Do you need some helpful ways to save some extra cash each month? I know all my fellow boss babes quickly said yes. You are in for such a treat. Even though saving money can be a major problem for most people (mostly because we love spending every penny we earn), there are still some simple and effective ways to save your hard earned money. Oh, and did I mention from the comfort of your very own home. I’m going to give you 6 psychological tricks you can apply in your life to save more money each month. Let’s take a look!

Money Saving Tip #1. Zero out your money every evening

Zeroing down is a really easy way to save money. Let me explain how it works. Subtract the last number of whatever account, wallet or loose change that you have to 0. So that means if you have 43 dollars? You then take 3 of that (which leaves you 40) and put it into your savings. It many not seem like much but doing this every single day can really start to add up. The zeroing out money saving method saves just a little bit of your unspent money making it a lot easier to focus on saving and less on spending.

Money Saving Tip #2. Count backward from 10

Do you shop from home? If you are like me and love shopping in your pjs with your favorite comfy blanket this one is for you! Before you pull out your credit card or use your paypal account for that awesome deal that you just saw on Amazon, or in your email, count backward slowly from 10, breath in and out several times and then ask yourself “do I really need this?” Sometimes it all comes down to creating a space between the thought, the action and the response to make better decisions. I know doing this one has probably saved me thousands. Y'all know I love to shop lol.

Money Saving Tip #3. Pay with cash

If you are paying for food or takeout, or anything that gets delivered to your home, handing out that $20 plus dollars in cash is a lot harder than just swiping with your credit/debit card. It's all about psycology. When you use the cash you have an emotional attachment to the physical paper and it’s easier to process that you are giving your money away!

Money Saving Tip #4. Avoid advertising

Now, this is kind of a passive tip to save money from home but try to avoid any general advertising if possible. Mute the TV or computer if you can during commercials and try not to watch the advertisements on social media too. This will reduce your likelihood of impulse buying something and you’ll get into a great habit of not being subliminally told what to do! That also means not opening that tempting email for Nordstrum Rack about the newest sales event. Just DELETE it girl! I'm not saying you have to do this forever but wile you are trying to get in the habit of saving or saving up for something important don't risk it.

Money Saving Tip #5. Track your expenses

Spend the next 30 days writing down every transaction you make, so that by the end of the month you will have a detailed understanding of exactly how much you’re spending each month. And now many credit and debit card companies have fun systems that will do this for you. If yours doesn't then theres an app for that if you don't like physically writing it. Keep it handy or post it to the wall. You’ll be amazed at what you’ve been spending your money on. It’s jaw-dropping!

Money Saving Tip #6. Start a side hustle

I bet you have a couple of hours in your life that you could spend working a bit more?! Or maybe you have a hobby that could be turned into a profitable side hustle? Y'all know I'm all about having multiple streams of income. By starting your own business or investing in your thoughts you will not only be able to make more money from home but also save more money from home. There are tons of ways to make money on the side!

Whatever you decide to do to get your finances in order, know that the world can be your oyster and…You have the power to create the life that you want! These are just 6 very simple ways to save more money, so stay tuned for more!
